The second lunch is today's. For the first time ever, I tried to shape onigiri by hand and failed miserably. I wanted triangles but could only manage slightly wonky balls. One has black sesame seeds on it while the other is plain. Then I cut some apples, one with a checkerboard and the other as a baby bunny. In the side dish compartment there is some cut up roast beef from the other day in bulldog sauce, leftover broccoli, grape tomatoes and more kiwi.

Two Days
Because of an early class I didn't get a chance to upload pictures of Pippy's lunch yesterday, so today we have two pictures. The first one is a raisin bread sandwich of peanut butter and orange marmalade with the crusts cut off, some sun chips and her favorite fruit lately, kiwi and a couple of sandwich cookies. Not the most colorful lunch, but I was tired.

Your onigiri look fine for a first try! Don't despair, they get easier with practice. It's too cold in the winter to use the cold water method so I've been using the cling wrap method instead. But I prefer the cold water in the summer :D
ReplyDeleteIt's great that your little one will eat kiwi!! I wish mine would.
You just never know what she will eat as it changes all the time. She won't normally eat beef, but if I put it in her bento 9 times out of 10 she will eat it. She keeps me hopping! :D
